In the Internet departement or BDC, how you emphasize your subject line, where you place your headline, and how you focus the rest of your e-mail around it is really up to you. The key is to know what your objective is.
The subject line is key. How you say it is as imperative as what is in the body of your e-mails. This is where you stick your foot in their door, buying yourself enough time to thaw your e-prospect’s confrontation, generate attention, and get on the highway to another sold vehicle.
Here are examples of consideration grabbers that can be exploited in a universal e-follow up or as part of a newsletter to continuing prospects in a dealer’s pipeline:

A Guide to SEO For Newbies
Search engines are the gateway for any web business, Google being the most prominent out there. It’s important to get the highest page listing possible as few people searching for what they’re looking for, will go several pages deep into their search listings. There are companies out there making tempting promises to get you on the first page often times at exorbitant prices.
The best way is to try to get free organic website traffic, meaning when someone searches for a term or phrase in the search engine, those pages that come up are “organic” type listings. Being on page one is highly desirable as few people search beyond the first one or two pages listed. This is different than the paid ads you see on the right hand side of the page, other wise known as “pay per click” ads. Trying to get listed at a high page rank is known as search engine optimization or SEO and boils down to:
1. Content is key. Real content that is interesting for real people. Not just picking a keyword or phrase and writing a bunch of garbage that really makes no sense in order to trick the search engine spiders, otherwise known as keyword stuffing. You really don’t want your keywords to be much above 2-4% of the overall content.
2. Links back to your site from other’s sites provide validation. The more links particularly links that relate to your site’s content, the higher your page ranking will be. Methods to get link backs range from link exchanges with other websites in related topics, to writing articles about the topic you’re dealing with, to social bookmarking sites and such.
3. Updated and fresh content. This is important both for your human visitors as well as the web spiders. When both see there’s new content added at least 3 times a week, they will be more likely to come back more often. It takes an average of seven visits before someone will purchase a product or post on a forum, so it’s important to give both reason to return to your site.
4. Navigational links that are clear and make sense from your main home page. There’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to find what you are looking for easily, most visitors will leave quickly if it’s seems too confusing to find what they are looking for.
5. Text means everything. The search engine spiders ignore Javascript and graphics and until recently couldn’t read text in Flash animations. If the spiders can’t read these items, it doesn’t help your page rankings at all. So you need plenty of real content on your site.
The real secret to long term success with web site optimization is to make sure your site is usable and interesting, both to the search engine spiders and to your human visitors. Keep adding fresh content that makes them both want to come back for more, and your site will continue to grow in popularity with both.
What Type of Paper Should I Use for My Book?
It’s a tough question to answer, and one I hear all the time: Which paper stock should I choose for my book? And although it’s a tough question, it is an important one because the paper you choose will tell your potential buyer what kind of book this is. Go too cheap, you might lose some buyers to a different title. Go too expensive, you just wasted your money.
Let’s start by clearing up a point of confusion among many looking to print their first book: the difference between bond and offset paper weights. When you purchase paper for your copy machine or home printer, you’ll note paper is listed as something like 20# bond. What that means is that when the paper is manufactured at 17 x 22″, 500 sheets of that paper weighs 20 pounds. However, offset paper for printing plants is manufactured in 25 x 38″ sheets, which is 2.5 times larger than bond paper. So 500 sheets of that same paper stock now weigh 50 pounds. Thus, 20# bond is the same as 50# offset.
That 50# offset paper proves to be fine for many books. If your book has no or few images and no color inside, there is little reason to print on a much thicker paper. Save your money. You may want to check the pricing for 60# offset, but I usually don’t recommend printing on paper much thicker than that for most novels, etc.
Don’t assume that the 20# bond paper you saw at Office Depot is going to be identical to the 50# offset paper you asked your printer to use. It won’t be. Different paper manufacturers produce their papers with different brightness, different opacity, etc. So always ask for paper samples from your printer.
Choosing paper stock for a book printed in full color is sometimes a little trickier. You may want to go with a glossy paper stock to make any images “pop” a little more. However, glossy stock often feels thinner than standard paper stock.
Also, if your book is full color, a thicker paper may be necessary to make your book have a nicer feel to it and justify your sale price. If printing in the U.S., I usually recommend no lighter than a 70# or 80# gloss. If printing overseas, don’t go lighter than 120 gsm.
I can’t say it often enough: No matter which paper stock you think you want, ask your printer for some samples first.
Always ask for your book covers to include gloss lamination. Standard paperback cover stock is 10 pt. C1S. A C1S cover means that it is coated on one side for durability and to help the colors “pop” a little more. If your book is on the large side, consider bumping up to a 12 pt. cover for extra durability.
Should I Create a Website? Do I Need One?
People always want to follow the latest thing, be it in fashion, sports, that kind of thing. Websites have become a necessity to almost everyone. Companies, businesses, individuals, even young adults have created personal websites with their respective purposes, be it for profit, or for entertainment.
What one must consider, however, before creating a website, are the factors in which must be put to thought before doing so, such as the cost, maintenance, use, web host and so forth.
Firstly, associating with the cost, we must always try to find an affordable host, not spending too much, nor too little. A cheap host does not exactly symbolize a credible reliability rating, but we must always look for value for money deals. Also, regarding the efficiency and server/web host reliability, there are many cases of web hosts not providing the service they had assured other people, some had even shut down and were nowhere to be seen. Keep this note in mind, as if you would like a long-lasting website, this would be the first thing to look for.
Next, would hiring a professional be affordable? Is it the best option? For simple websites, we could always pick up the coding, or even use programs, as it is relatively simple. However, when it comes to more complex coding, and when you want it to do a tad more than just providing information, hiring help in doing so would be the best way. Not only in terms of design, but security is also a key factor in assuring a quality website. If the website also acts as a portal for businesses, security would definitely be the issue here.
So, having considered the things to do before building a website, do we actually NEED one? If creating one would boost sales or promote positive implications to oneself, then by all means, go ahead and do what’s best. Yet again, planning is the key to success, in everything we do.
Common Misconceptions about Government Seized Auto Auctions
Government seized auto auctions are getting quite a fair bit of attention nowadays. Among those who heard about them, there are a good number of them who have no further knowledge about these auctions except that they exist. This perhaps explains why there are so many questions and doubts about them. As a result, many miss the golden opportunity of buying cars at slashed prices off their retail values.
Some of the more circulated myths among people about government seized auto auctions:
1. All repossessed vehicles were seized from law breakers
It is quite sad that people have the thinking that the vehicles sold are all repossessed from criminals. In actual fact, a large number of them actually belong to people just like you and me. Bad times may have hit the owners and they are unable to service their loans, hence the seizure.
2. The vehicles are often in bad shape
It is very rarely that you will find an auto in a really bad condition. Most of them are in good running state and some are even nearly new! There is simply no connection between “seized” and “bad”.
3. There are no records of the vehicle history
Government seized auto auctions usually provide free records of the vehicle history and Car Fax VIN reports. If you need more details about the accident records such as the extent of damage and repair, some auctions also provide the added service.
4. Government seized auto auctions are all private auctions
While it is true that some of these auctions are only for professional car dealers, the major part of them are open to a wide public. You may or may not need to register prior to being able to make a bid. Generally, any adult with a valid driving license can participate.
5. Inspection prior to bidding is disallowed
These government car auctions generally allow participants to view and check the automobiles hours before the auction. Some even let you inspect days earlier. In any case, do verify the period in the auction rules.
6. Really good vehicles can’t be sold cheap.
If you think this statement is true, then it can stop you from giving government seized auto auctions a try. While good condition ones do cost more, still the price depends largely on whether there are competing bids or not. The initial bids are always low since the auctioneers are keener to clear their stockpile of cars than to profit. This explains why you can drive home a sport convertible or luxury auto at up to 95% off its original price.
